Alarmbridge Connect Service - How It Works
Download OpenAPI specification:Download
The Alarmbridge Connect Service ensures uninterrupted alarm communication for group living schemes by seamlessly bridging warden call systems with IP-enabled Alarm Receiving Centers (ARCs). Designed to support protocols such as TT92 and TTNew, the service uses a secure plug-and-play Alarmbride Connect Gateway to transmit alarm events over the internet to the Alarmbridge Service for reliable protocol conversion. The Alarmbridge Connect Gateway is a proven standard off the shelf hardware. This ensures legacy systems remain operational even after the PSTN network is phased out.
The implementation is streamlined and straightforward. The Gateway connects directly to existing analog alarm control units, eliminating the need for costly infrastructure upgrades. Once connected, the service manages the secure transmission of alarm events, encapsulating and encrypting them for reliable delivery to digital ARC platforms.
Migration is as simple as unplugging the group scheme from the PSTN and connecting it to the Alarmbridge Connect Gateway. The Alarmbridge Connect Service requires no local equipment to manage, as the Alarmbridge Connect Gateway and its configurations are remotely managed by iotcomms.io, reducing operational complexity while ensuring high reliability.
The Alarmbridge Connect Service ensures compatibility between warden call systems using TT92, TTNew or BS8521:1 and modern IP protocols such as SCAIP and NOW-IP. By reliably converting analog events into digital formats, the service protects existing infrastructure investments while enabling a smooth transition to modern digital communication standards.
The connection to the Gateway is continuously monitored to ensure uninterrupted operation. If connectivity is lost or restored, alarm events are automatically raised, enabling quick response to potential issues and maintaining reliable communication between devices and ARCs.
The Alarmbridge Connect Service not only solves today's challenges of PSTN shutdown but also prepares group living schemes for tomorrow's needs. Its flexible, cloud-based design supports scalability, making it a future-proof solution for evolving telecare requirements. Additionally, the Gateway supports other use cases where a reliable PSTN replacement is required, broadening its applicability across various critical communication scenarios.
The Alarmbridge Connect Service ensures seamless migration to IP alarm protocols while safeguarding the investments in legacy analog systems, providing peace of mind for housing providers and enhanced safety for residents.
