The iotcomms.io Alarmbridge Connect Service is engineered to provide seamless, secure, and reliable alarm communication between legacy analog systems and modern IP-based platforms. By supporting a broad spectrum of protocols and leveraging advanced cloud-native capabilities, it ensures operational continuity and future-proof scalability.
The Alarmbridge Connect Service offers extensive protocol compatibility to enable seamless integration between devices and Alarm Receiving Centers (ARCs):
Analog Protocols
TT92 and TTNew
Provides robust support for legacy analog alarm communication systems used in group living environments.
BS 8521-1
Complies with the British Standard for social alarms, ensuring compatibility with healthcare and residential alarm systems widely deployed in the UK.
IP-Based Protocols
SCAIP (Social Care Alarm Internet Protocol)
Implements CENELEC TS 50134-9, the European standard for IP-based social alarm communication.
NOW-IP
Complies with BS 8521-2:2020, offering secure, reliable digital communication for modern telecare applications.
SIP (Session Initiation Protocol)
Enables voice and media transmission for VoIP-based communication.
To ensure uninterrupted alarm communication, the Alarmbridge Connect Service incorporates:
Dedicated IP Transport Path
Bypasses unreliable VoIP providers, providing a stable and predictable communication channel.
End-to-End Encryption
Implements TLS and SRTP to secure both signalling and media streams.
Connection Monitoring and Service Alarms
The Alarmbridge Connect Gateway connection is continuously monitored. If connectivity is lost or restored, a service alarm is generated to alert operators of the change.
The Alarmbridge Connect Service supports a wide range of legacy and modern alarm control units and ARC platforms:
Alarm Control Units
Integrates seamlessly with analog devices using protocols such as TT92, TTNew, and BS 8521-1, preserving existing infrastructure.
ARC Platforms
Certified compatibility with leading platforms, including Enovation/UMO, Tunstall/PNC, LeGrand/Jontek, and Skyresponse.
The Alarmbridge Connect Service supports the ability to initiate call-backs from the ARC to a specific speech unit behind the group scheme controller. This feature allows the ARC operator to directly communicate with residents or staff in the group scheme, enhancing emergency response and assistance capabilities.
To bridge legacy analog schemes with modern IP-based ARC systems, the Alarmbridge Connect Service provides support for in-call commands, including:
Volume Control
Adjusts the speech unit volume up or down during active communication sessions.
Door Release
Enable ARC operators to remotely unlock doors during emergencies or when assistance is required. These features integrate analog systems with IP protocols, offering enhanced functionality while maintaining compatibility with legacy devices.
Designed for robust, multi-site deployments, the Alarmbridge Connect Service is highly scalable:
Cloud-Native Architecture
Supports high volumes of alarm events and multi-tenant configurations with minimal latency.
Flexible Deployment Models
Offers both fully cloud-based and hybrid deployment options for enhanced privacy and control.
Rapid Onboarding
Simplifies large-scale implementations through automated provisioning of Gateways and devices.
