Pricing

The Connectivity Service is charged for based on the connectivity type and usage, reflecting the underlying AWS costs such as bandwidth and peak usage. This model allows customers to pay only for the capacity actively used, providing flexibility and predictability tailored to each organization's needs.

  1. IPSEC VPN Connections

    • Billing Basis

IPSEC VPN connections are charged for based on the peak number of concurrent VPN connections in a month.

    • How It's Calculated

If your peak usage reaches 10 concurrent VPN connections, with each connection priced at $X per month, the monthly cost is:

      • 10 x $X

    • Bandwidth Considerations

Each IPSEC VPN connection is optimized for up to 1.25 Gbps throughput. For customers requiring higher traffic volumes, multiple VPN tunnels can be provisioned to meet additional bandwidth needs at an incremental cost per tunnel.

  2. AWS Transit Gateway Attachments

    • Billing Basis

Transit Gateway attachments are charged for based on the number of attachments and data transfer volumes.

    • How It's Calculated

If you have 5 Transit Gateway attachments in a given month, with each attachment priced at $Y per month, and data transfer is billed at a rate of $Z per GB, the monthly cost is:

      • 5 x $Y + (Data Transfer in GB x $Z)

    • Bandwidth Considerations

Transit Gateway data transfer rates vary based on regional and cross-region data transfer. Charges reflect AWS regional pricing models, so costs are aligned with your specific bandwidth and geographic needs.

  3. AWS Direct Connect Connections

    • Billing Basis

Direct Connect is charged for based on the peak number of active Direct Connect ports and the bandwidth tier selected (e.g., 1 Gbps, 10 Gbps).

    • How It's Calculated

If your peak usage includes two 1 Gbps connections priced at $A each and one 10 Gbps connection priced at $B, the monthly cost is:

      • (2 x $A) + $B

    • Data Transfer Charges

Data transferred over Direct Connect is billed separately according to AWS Direct Connect pricing, which offers lower per-GB transfer rates than public Internet usage. Customers can benefit from significant savings for high-volume data transfer compared to standard Internet egress fees.

This usage-based pricing structure for the iotcomms.io Connectivity Service ensures cost efficiency by aligning charges with each organization's peak monthly requirements and the connectivity options chosen. Each connectivity type is billed independently, offering flexibility and scalability to meet evolving demands while maintaining predictable, AWS-aligned costs.
