iotcomms.io, provider of a cloud communications platform for business-critical and secure communication, has become a member of TSA, the industry body for Technology Enabled Care (TEC), representing the largest industry specific network in Europe and bringing together a growing membership of organisations across local government, health and the private sector.

The digitalization of the healthcare sector brings new exciting opportunities, also within Technology Enabled Care (TEC). There is rising interest in new types of solutions that enable elderly care and welfare services to be delivered more efficiently. New technologies accelerate innovation, and the growing number of solutions and services is further fueled by the decoupling of the Telecare market. While today’s TEC is mainly delivered by standalone devices installed by care providers and connected to dedicated monitoring systems, we will see many new players making entry to the market putting together best-of-breed solutions from an ecosystem of suppliers. Also, the world of the internet of things, where some experts forecast that more than 35 billion devices and sensors will be connected worldwide by 2021, will introduce many new ways to support our lives.

The digitalization of telephone networks in Europe will require massive replacements of PSTN-based services in the coming years. In some countries immediate actions are needed to avoid a major disruption to Telecare and failing to act in time may put a great number of vulnerable people at risk.

TSA – the voice of the TEC sector

TSA is the voice of the TEC sector in UK. The association wants to be in the forefront of understanding the challenges of the ongoing shift from analogue to digital Technology Enabled Care by bringing together government, regulators, telecoms and the TEC sector to ensure that the transition is handled well, and that vulnerable people are not put at risk.

We are happy to now be a member of TSA and help shape the future of TEC. We look forward to share our insights about transformational opportunities offered by digital and showcase the full potential of digital care solutions. We hope that we can shine a light on how the technology emerging now can offer so much more than what has been possible in the past.
