With the onset of Covid-19 the need for caregivers to provide services to elderly users in a safe and secure manner has rapidly increased. Phoniro has identified remote video visits as a strategy to limit coronavirus exposure and mobilized to quickly build the new solution powered by iotcomms.io’s scalable and secure cloud platform. iotcomms.io will integrate with Phoniro’s platform “Phoniro Care” and establish video communication between the user’s tablet and the caregiver’s web application. All communication will be encrypted to ensure strongest possible security.
The new service from Phoniro is based on iotcomms.io’s “WebRTC Gateway as a function” and is built utilizing the power of public cloud infrastructure. The function provides WebRTC technology which enables video communication over a web browser, without the need of any local software, hardware or servers. By choosing iotcomms.io’s out-of-the-box functions for video communication, Phoniro has been able to move fast and reach the market in short time.
Phoniro started in 2004 when two companies merged, one was working on CRM solutions for the municipalities’ home care services and the other provided technology for digital key management. Phoniro’s offer has developed over time and new modules are continuously added to the platform.
In 2018 Phoniro became part of Assa Abloy and now belongs to a division within Assa called Global Solutions where Phoniro takes care of all operations in the Elderly Care segment. Today Phoniro has just over 200 employees and their solutions are in use in over 200 municipalities and private care companies in Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland, England, USA and the Netherlands.
iotcomms.io, founded 2018 in Stockholm, is developing a serverless platform for real-time communications services. The platform is designed for mission-critical applications and attracts companies within sectors such as Healthcare, Alarm Industries and Telecom. With iotcomms.io, established and new solution providers get access to secure Alarm, Voice & Video building blocks, and can move fast to the market with a solution that scales serverless – both in size and globally.
